Folks – There have been a number of threads on recommendation requests for hardwood floor installation, duct cleaning and furnace inspections so I thought I would provide a list of contractors we recently used and would highly recommend. The contractors were very professional and had some of the best prices. Btw, although we had our ducts cleaned and furnace checked, there was absolutely nothing wrong with them. I think we just seem to be having a colder winter this year.

1. Hardwood Floor Contractor : Juan Simg – (408) 667-1573. Juan is one of the best contractors we have worked with and was the most reasonable.

2. Best Store to purchase Hardwood / Laminate Floors: Sams Carept (San Jose) – (408) 238-2298. They have some of the best prices for floors.

3. Best Store to purchase installation materials for hardwood floors (underlayment etc.) – Conklin Brothers (San Jose) – (408) 266-2250

4. Air Duct Cleaning : Mike Beserman (911 Remediation) – (408) 624-2037. Charged us $250 to clean all the ducts.

5. Furnace Inspection / Repair : Luis Corzo – (650) 669-4231. Charged us $75 to inspect the furnace and made some adjustments.
